Volunteers are a vital part of our healthcare team. Each year they donate thousands of hours to the hospital to provide services that will benefit our patients and help make our patients' stay more comfortable.
The Fitzgibbon Hospital Volunteer Program welcomes men, women, seniors and students from our area with one common purpose - a dedication to helping others. Their time and commitment adds to the compassionate care we give our patients at Fitzgibbon Hospital. While volunteers offer their services free of charge, they do receive many benefits. They have a chance to make a difference to the quality of our community and our patients. They have a chance to learn new skills while making new friends and developing new interests. Volunteers may also use the opportunity to do some career exploration in healthcare. Most of all, volunteers receive the satisfaction that comes from being needed and doing something worthwhile that helps others.
Volunteers enjoy discounts at the hospital, including free drinks and food from the cafeteria, an annual recognition awards ceremony, and free flu shots.
We invite you to become part of our healing team as a volunteer at Fitzgibbon Hospital. A major strength to our community health care center is its dedicated core of volunteers. Whether it’s bringing some cheer to a lonely patient, delivering flowers from loved ones or making a sick child less anxious, our volunteers have a great and lasting impact on our patients.
