Fitzgibbon Hospital awarded Outstanding Business of the Year

At the 100th annual Marshall Chamber of Commerce Banquet, held Thursday, June 16, Fitzgibbon Hospital was presented with the 2022-2023 Outstanding Business of the Year. Angy Littrell, President and CEO of Fitzgibbon Hospital received the award from Sandy Hisle, President of the Marshall Chamber.
Before presenting the award, Hisle read several facts about the Fitzgibbon Hospital organization which will celebrate its own 100-year anniversary in 2023. Statics shared during the banquet were:
Serves seven Missouri counties with five primary care clinics and access to 39 medical specialties
Celebrating 100-Year Anniversary in April 2023
Independent, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization
Operates the only inpatient mental health unit within 60 miles
More than $38 million in annual economic impact flowing to local, rural economies
Community benefit dollars to support civic organizations in the region with memberships, resources and donations
Provided $4.4 million in uncompensated care in FY2020
Employs nearly 500 people; no layoffs or staff reductions during the pandemic
Administered over 45,000 Cov-19 tests since March 2020 to residents of 74 MO counties, 38 states & 5 different countries
During the pandemic was one of the only 24-hour testing facilities in the state; residents came from far and wide
Treated 387 Covid-19 inpatients since Jan. 1, 2020
18,060+ vaccines administered in clinics held in Marshall, Slater, Brunswick, Glasgow, Pilot Grove, Hughesville and Fayette
“This award is meaningful in so many ways, and I feel it is well-deserved. I accepted the award on behalf of the Fitzgibbon organization, but this recognition would not have been possible without the hard work of each of our amazing staff,” said Littrell.
