Have you ever been told, "Don't be sad, he/she is in a better place?"
You know, that could be a very true statement. But the problem is, that is a statement that targets the thinking. But when we lose someone, that loss causes a problem in the heart. The feeling of grief causes a broken heart.
And so, because our hearts are hurting, these types of statements, while potentially true, really does nothing for us. In fact, if someone doesn't have the same belief system that you do, or they are potentially angry at God, such a statement can actually be hurtful.
